photo slide show on Gia Vuc Village new dispensary
and market place are being officially opened
by A-729 on the 1st of May 1964
This
culminated about 5 months of hard Civic
Action work for the A-729 team, where 3 new
wells were constructed, 2 new class rooms
were added to the school and a brand new
dispensary and new market place were erected.
An official ceremony took place on the 1st
of May 1966 with A typical banquet
afterward. During the ceremony clothing were
also given to the villagers thanks to the wives
of the A-729 from Fort Bragg, farm tools
were also provided by the USOM.
There is more articles on
Gia Vuc Civic Actions in the copies of the
Green Beret magazine, available from RADIX
Press.
All photos taken by SFC Sidney M Donnell,
and purchased by myself from a US militaria
dealer. Does any body know of Sidney M
Donald where about? The information
is thanks to Gia Vuc MOPSUMS from RADIX
Press. Fantastic source of historical
knowledge, check their site out, loads of
stuff to buy for the historian, Vets
ect!

Gia Vuc
International Airport
This may
not have been regular
scheduled flights, but the Gia
Vuc airstrip was essential to
the survival of the camp,
usually what went in and
out went via the
airfield!
Can
any body ID the pilots
and the Aviation Company, not
many helicopters were
camouflaged, this may help!

This was
probably taken before
flying an observation

valley
north of Gia
Vuc,
known as Viet Cong
alley,
a bad place to be!
Can

about the mission?
