It looks like this lovely, elderly Hre woman is wearing lipstick, but she isn’t. 
Her lips are stained  deep red from chewing betel nuts, a  narcotic nut used  by nearly all hill tribes.
Betel nuts’ pain-killing ability helps numb teeth and gum pain.
