was in “Rolling Thunder, The Vietnam Experience” main
exhibition museum platoon tent. The scene recreated a
portion of the South and East walls of the teamhouse circa
1969.
It comprised of two mannequins showing the two most
popular uniforms worn by US Special Forces soldiers in
Vietnam: the tiger stripe and the jungle utility uniform.
Display photos from J-L Delauve and Jim Fleet
Setting the scene:
This depict one of this long and lonely evening spend in the teamhouse. The commo Sgt in tigers
stripe uniform has one of the handset from the two PRC25 in his hand and has just given a Situation
Report to the C-team. Every night one member of the A-team would be on radio watch either from the
commo bunker or from the teamhouse. One of his buddy a Sgt First Class has decided to keep him
company for a little while and is reading the latest copy of Playboy magazine over a cup of coffee.
Like every night the heat is quite oppressive and the old wall mounted fan is purring away blowing a
warm breeze. The only other back ground noises for the moment  are radio traffic from other camps
and songs from Army Forces Vietnam Network, the US Army radio station playing on a old radio.
From time to time the peaceful night may be interrupted by passing Helicopters or fast movers on
there way to support nearby operations.
If you study carefully the two photos above you will see that many of  similar originals items from
the teamhouse have been obtained or recreated, more on this in the following pages.
